Las Fallas is a special Spanish festival.
It is held in Valencia every March.
Las Fallas was started because of an old tradition.
In the past, small pieces of wood were burned by carpenters to celebrate the start of spring.
The tradition has now changed into burning giant sculptures.
These sculptures are made of wood and are called ninots.
Some of them are modeled after famous singers and actors.
They are carried through the city in a parade.
Then they are set on fire on the last night of the festival.
The two best ninots aren’t burned. Instead, they are put in a museum.
People love Las Fallas.
It will be celebrated for many more years in the future!

The Palais ldéal is a famous building in France.
It consists of thousands of stones.
This gorgeous building was created by a mail carrier.
While he delivered the mail, he often found interesting stones.
He picked them up and took them home.
He collected stones for 33 years.
One day he decided to make a palace with his collection.
He was inspired by his memories of beautiful postcards.
The palace was built in his garden.
After years of work, it was opened to visitors in 1907.
The palace is 26 meters long and 12 meters high.
It is decorated with animal shapes and beautiful pillars.
It is now a popular tourist spot.
More than 120,000 people visit it every year.
