◈Kiwoom
Enmanuel de Jesus (11 wins, 11 losses, 3.76) takes the mound to stop the losing streak. After struggling with 4 innings and 8 earned runs in a loss to NC on the 4th, Jesus has a tendency to collapse once he's been doing well, which is a painful part of his performance. He has been strong at home against Doosan but struggled on the road; however, considering his recent solid outing away, the possibility of a rebound is high. In Sunday's game, Kiwoom managed only 2 runs against Yang Hyun-jong and Jang Hyun-sik, and they are currently unable to overcome issues against left-handed pitchers. It may be an unpleasant fact to recall that they could have been limited to just 1 run if not for Kwak Do-kyu's control issues. Kim Dong-wook, who sealed the loss as soon as he came in, seems to have reached his limit.
◈Doosan
Jordan Balazovic (2 wins, 4 losses, 3.40) is aiming for his 3rd win of the season. After a poor outing allowing 3 earned runs over 4.1 innings against Lotte at home on the 1st, Balazovic has continuously struggled against Lotte. He tends to pitch more reliably on the road than at home, which may be a factor in this matchup. In Saturday's game, Doosan's lineup scored 12 runs, including 3 home runs, against KT's pitching staff, and a day of rest has likely contributed positively to their batting form. The 2 days off should also be beneficial for this game. The bullpen allowed only 1 run over 3 innings, providing a welcome break for the winning setup.
◈Comment
Once again, Kiwoom faced a painful comeback loss. It won’t be easy to hit against the hard-throwing Balazovic. While it's true that Jesus has a higher chance of rebounding, the bullpen's ability in clutch situations is superior for Doosan, and this will likely determine the outcome. Doosan, with a stronger lineup, is closer to victory.
