◈ White Sox
Davis Martin (2 losses, 2.96) is attempting to secure his first win of the season. In the home game against Detroit on the 27th, Martin pitched 5 innings, allowing 7 hits and 1 earned run. He has shown strong performances at home, while struggling in away games recently. It is undeniable that Martin can effectively handle 5 innings at home. The Mets' lineup, which scored 5 runs including a 2-run homer from JD Martinez against Cannon and Tucson the previous day, is fortunate to maintain its hitting rhythm on the road. However, it's disappointing that they could only muster 1 run against Tucson. I don't understand why the bullpen, which lacked 3.2 innings, is using Edwin Diaz for three consecutive games.

◈ New York Mets
Jose Quintana (6 wins, 9 losses, 4.36) is hoping for his 7th win of the season. On the 26th, Quintana displayed an impressive performance in San Diego, pitching 6.1 innings with 4 hits and no earned runs, overcoming a slump in August, which is promising. The fact that he has rebounded on the road gives cause for optimism in this game. The White Sox lineup, which scored only 1 run in the first inning against Megil in the previous game, can be described as a lifeless lineup. It's concerning that all runs in the last two games came solely from Benintendi. Thankfully, Tucson managed to handle 4 innings on his own.

◈ Comment
Can the ailing White Sox lineup revive? Currently, that seems highly unlikely. It also doesn't appear easy to take on Quintana. While Martin might be able to hold it together at home, Cannon's meltdown the previous day raises concerns, and I’ve mentioned before that I find the White Sox bullpen untrustworthy. The New York Mets, who have the upper hand in strength, are closer to victory.
