He was elected the 16th President of the United States in 1860. Abraham Lincoln was the president who succeeded in freeing the black slaves.
He did not succeed in life without pain. In fact, he went through many difficulties.
He ran for office many times, but he failed. However, he did not give up. After nine bitter failures,
he finally became one of the most famous Presidents of the United States.
