He could go to school for only one year. He had to work during the daytime and study at night.
Every night after work, he studied law on his own. He worked so hard that he finally became a lawyer in 1836.
He was elected the 16th President of the United States in 1860. Abraham Lincoln was the president who succeeded in freeing the black slaves.
He did not succeed in life without pain. In fact, he went through many difficulties.
He ran for office many times, but he failed. However, he did not give up. After nine bitter failures,
he finally became one of the most famous Presidents of the United States.
