That the educated person is happier than the uneducated is by no means self-evident.

교육을 받은 사람들이 그렇지 못한 사람보다 더 행복하다는 말은 결코 확실한 말은 아니다.

 

However, those who are conscious of their lack of education are discontented, simply because they think that more education would have made them happier.

그러나 자신이 교육을 받지 못했다는 것을 의식하는 사람들은 교육을 더 받았더라면 더 행복하게 살았을 것이라고 스스로 생각하기 때문에 불만이 있는 것이다.

My father said he found classical music serene and restful.

아버지는 고전음악이 고요하고 쉬게 해준다는 것을 알았다고 말했다.

 

"Do you feel the same way?"

“너도 그렇게 생각하지?”

 

he asked his friend, a true woodsman.

그는 그의 친구인 벌목꾼에게 물었다.

 

He pondered the question carefully, and then replied,

그는 조심스럽게 그 문제를 생각해 보더니 답을 하였다.

 

" I'd rather listen to the wind blow."

나는 차라리 바람소리를 듣겠네.
